Inhumane killing or torturing of street or any random animal

There are so many incidents of wild animal attacks in India, Indian peoples did the same with animals in return, which should not be done. Every next day there is a news about the brutal killing of wild animals. The population of animals kept on decreasing, some of the wild animals in India are already on the verge of extinction. If we do continue killing with wild animals in return, one day will lose our pride and beauty of green forest. One of the problem poaching, we are already facing and we have to fight against it to save our pride not in support of killing them.

Killing of an animal/pet is illegal and its is an offence being to cruelty on animals as defined under Section 11 of The Prevention Of Cruelty to Animals Act.

 ANIMALS TORTURED IN FESTIVALS

Yulin Dog Festival

We sincerely hope that China comes out with another way to beat the heat because the Yulin Dog Festival is unacceptable. This tradition of consuming dog’s meat traces back to almost five hundred years, as it was believed that the ingestion of their meat will help avert the heat of the summer solstice. The dogs are skinned alive after being burnt, they are boiled and electrocuted. Yet some citizens believe that the festival is conducted in a humane manner. Some grass root initiatives have been taken up claiming that the festival is unconstitutional and should be cancelled forever. Let’s hope that things work out in favour of our furry companions.

 Ukweshwama Festival

This is an extremely popular ritual conducted in South Africa. It is performed to thank the forthcoming crops. But the manner in which it is conducted will make you sick to your stomach. This appalling festival consists of young men tormenting and persecuting a petrified bull. The bull is inflicted with excruciating pain, where its tongue is ripped out of its mouth and a handful of dirt is stuffed down its throat, its eyes are scratched out and its genitals are mutilated. Imagine the horror!

Laws related to protect animals followed in India

The Wildlife Protection Act (1972)

Prohibits injury to any wild animal or trees under section 39.

"Animals" include amphibians, birds, reptiles and mammals and their young. In the case of bird and reptiles, even their eggs are included in this category. The exceptions are those classified as "vermin" defined in Section V. Each state has it's own list of non-human animals considered vermin.

The penalty for the person guilty of an offence under this Act is imprisonment for a term of three years, or with fine of twenty-five thousand rupee, or with both. In a second offence, the term of imprisonment will be seven years with fine of ten thousand rupees.
